"I don’t know where you’re at in your life or what you’re going through, but I wanna tell you to keep going, baby. I wanna tell you success is on the other side of it.
I wanna tell you it’s gonna be okay. I wanna tell you that the windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror for a reason, because what’s in front of you is so much more important than what’s behind you."

interesting interview-especially the costs of stadium hire
From previous discussions, prior to the current SR seasons and at the early stages of Optus, the starting prices for holding an event at HBF was $250K and for Optus $500K.
The WF get only a very small component of takings from food and beverage outlets at HBF.
One has to remember that the AFL is the main game in town and influences the WA State govt to help Rugby Union and Soccer/Football as little as possible. I s'pose that's business but the AFL also get consistently good numbers.
Thanks Tattarang/Andrew Forrest.
Particularly given it still largely remains a half-arsed bodge, being only part of what was a pretty average development in the first place. Still, it is not like they can even manage a functional hospital system in WA, so I suppose a halfway decent rectangular stadium is just imaginary unicorn stuff. Let alone something actually good.
Still its a better experience then Subiaco

Good interview, very sensible man speaks well.
Found the possible player pool of fifty plus to try cover injury and covid intresting, seems to be similar to what big bash cricket is doing. Hopefully a couple of fringe WA academy players included to give them potential opportunities to play a level up for a short stint
We scrum for posession, run for the try zone, bleed for the team and live for the game
"The main difference between playing League and Union is that now I get my hangovers on Monday instead of Sunday - Tom David
playing Western Force home games at Optus would be a mistake - In my humble opinion

The capacity of HBF is 21,000? Would still equate to 2/3rds empty Optus. That's an ugly-looking prospect.
I would rather see 10,000 people turned away from HBF before they even consider going to Optus.
A capacity HBF is something that would be worth experiencing. A half-full Optus would just be disappointing.

Agreed. I love the proximity of the stands to the pitch, and rectangular pitches are just too far away at Optus.
Also, any atmosphere at a large stadium is lost if the crowd is either small or spread out thinly.
Our crowds at HBF look fine on TV. If we moved to Optus it would look like a Tahs home game with the percentage of empty seats on display!
