    Dane Haylett Petty

Good to see Dane moving on from rugby after his health issues with concussion.

Looks like two ex Force players and Hale Old Boys starting a new venture:

Wallabies star Dane Haylett-Petty is the latest sporting heavyweight to sign up to a Fitstop franchise.

The Australian rugby union fullback has joined with high school friends, teammate and now business partner Justin Turner to launch Perth’s second Fitstop, in Jolimont, before the end of the year.....

    It would seems so.
According to the article: "Dane recently left the Melbourne Rebels to focus on his family in Perth and will head up the business operations while Justin".
With his recent history of concussions seems like a good call.
Great to have Dane back in the West.

Well if he hasn't it's pretty encouraging to see him re-establishing himself in Perth.

Good to hear that two former Force players are setting up in business together. I often wondered what had become of Justin Turner, injuries stopped him from realising his potential

Concussion forces Wallabies' Haylett-Petty to retire

SYDNEY (AP) — Australian international Dane Haylett-Petty has been forced to retire from rugby after a lengthy battle with concussions.

The 32-year-old Haylett-Petty sustained a head injury in a Bledisloe Cup match against the All Blacks in October 2020 and was unable to play in the most recent Super Rugby season with the Melbourne Rebels.

The fullback, with 38 tests and 12 tries for the Wallabies, had made attempts to return to top-level action, but complained of lingering symptoms such as migraines.

“It’s not the way I wanted to finish,” Haylett-Petty posted on social media on Sunday. “I would have loved to run out just one more time, but it wasn’t to be.

“Rugby has given me so much and for that I am forever grateful. The experiences, the opportunities, the challenges, and the lifelong friendships. Thank you to all the teams who gave me an opportunity, and whose jerseys I wore with pride.

Haylett-Petty, who also represented Australia at rugby sevens, made his Wallabies debut against England in 2016.

His Super Rugby career began at the Western Force in 2008 followed by stints in Japan and France, before joining the Rebels in 2018.

I reckon that DHP's playing career coming to an end due to concussion is a tragedy.
Don't agree with the suggestions above as there were seven players who stayed with the WF when the team was axed in 2017.
    DHP wasn't one of them.
I understand the reasons for his choice, but he still made the choice to leave the WF.
There were opportunities for him to come back yet he stayed with the Rebels.
At what stage has he showed any coaching talent?
