Lions V Boks Test for Perth?

‘We’re here to help’: Australia offers to host British and Irish Lions, Springboks series

Australia has emerged as a shock contender to host the British and Irish Lions and Springboks series in July and August.

The famous Lions touring side is due to tour South Africa this year but the COVID-19 pandemic in the country has put the tour in major doubt, and alternate plans - including playing without crowds and playing in the UK - are being considered by the South Africans and Lions officials.

I assume that nothing will come of this much like the reports in December and early January about Perth hosting the entire South Africa vs Australia Test Cricket series.

"Perth would almost certainly be handed one of the three Lions-Springboks Tests, given the high number of ex-pats from the UK, Ireland and South Africa that now call Western Australia home.

Brisbane and Sydney are the leading contenders to host the other two Tests. Both also have strong expats communities, and local fans who would love to watch Lions games."

Seems a dumb idea. Not really an issue anyway...The 'Boks won't get 500 minutes between now and then so they'd refuse to play anyway.

All I could think when I heard about the lockdown was hope it doesn’t affect the first Force match 😳
