A good question.
One i'm still pondering over myself.

As an eagles supporter myself who is now sitting on my couch with my eagles scarf still around my neck i can't help but wonder... wtf was that!?!

the absolute blow out of a result could be because of two reasons

1) the eagles temporarily got complacent and sucked
2) the dockers were the better team

i'm unfortunately going to have to go with option two. apart from some individual eagles brilliance from the likes of Stenglein and Cousins, there was no evidence to suggest they are the top AFL team and deserve the number one position on the ladder.
The dockers came out and had something to prove, a home final on the line and everything to prove. They played better, they played like a team, and they deserved to win.

At the end of the day we both get home finals so it's not the worst kind of result. (i'm trying to make myself feel better)
