    This article states:
"Rugby Australia has denied splashing out $3m to poach teenage star Joseph Suaalii from under the noses of the NRL. RA on Tuesday night claimed a deal was “not done yet” after seemingly convincing the 16-year-old sporting sensation to turn his back on a $1.7m offer to remain with South Sydney for three more years."

So they deny splashing out $3m on a teenager not because it's not true, but because the deal isn't finalised yet. That's some mighty fine hairs they're splitting.

Or they have taken a shitload of flak for attempting to give the Tahs yet one more leg-uo.

PS the recruiting SBW question wasn't a serious one.

Fox claiming Cradle Snatcher #1 to Canberra. If we can't sign Rona I'd like to see him back at Belmore. Also claiming SBW back to the Chooks. Like they need a leg-up. Could be worse I suppose. RA could pay him big bucks to go to the Tahs.

He will have a more stable contract at London Irish than coming out here to play Rugby.

Possibly. So that may explain why his agent is shopping him to Ricky Stuart. To play League and replace Nick Cotric.

The disgusting tug-o-war for Joseph Suaalii between league and union.

Wonder who's telling porkies here. Couldn't be Clarke with his impeccable record,....could it?

Hope someone is looking out for this kid’s mental health. These grown men fighting over him are shameless.

There should be a law of no press for athletes under the age of 18 . He’s going to need a real ...strong... genuine support base going forward. I feel nauseated at this shambles.

And are the backers who were going to fund him via the Australian Rugby Foundation (or whatever fancy name they want to give it nowadays) still going to make a contribution towards developing guaranteed future Wallabies and get a tax deduction for their generosity, or was it just this particular chap that they wanted to champion?

Sounds like his agent was just trying to beat up the Rabbitohs offer and the Australian Rugby Foundation took the bait.

Anyway hopefully the kid will be happy playing for the Rabbitohs, and rugby dont get tempted in a few years time to try and sign him again when his contract comes up for renewal.
