I was a bit stunned by that as well, but reading with more detail alluded to the motion being along the lines of voting for due process to be followed. I don't care what the outcome, you can't vote against that, it just gives too much power to your enemies. In light of that, it's even more interesting that NSW didn't support it. They've essentially admitted that they don't think they should follow the rules.

Funny that Wiggs got called out for trying to do what uncle Cam did when Castle was hired. The job wasn’t even advertised.

Rugby WA must get the IP back from the RA.

They werent even able to negotiate that with Raelene, and she did a listening tour. Doubt they will ever get it back..

Cant we just secede from this shit already. 3 wasted years talking about how we want a better RA administration only to eventually end up with Rob Clarke.

Just fucking pull the pin already on this fucking shit. GRR is already run by HKRU, lets just create our own union and move on... or should we go through another 3 years wondering and waiting and hoping only to end up exactly where we are today? How many times can we keep doing the same thing and not be seen to be insane? This has happened all our lives with politics and GST etc but in Rugby we could actually do something about it but chose not to.

Surely with World Rugby about to give RA a loan it would stir things up if RugbyWA attempted to breakaway. It may even force world rugby to step in and completely overhaul RA.

I feel and a few mates from QLD are also feeling the same, that while McLean was a great player in his day, he’s been on the Board for 16 years, and look where Rugby in Australia has ended up. 16 years is far too long, you become stale, not offering any new ideas and are just there for the ride and what comes with it. It’s time he moved on.

Queensland are probably more vulnerable due to the running costs of Ballymore. That is one thing the game needs to get fixed ASAP.

Don''t worry McLean will be gone pretty soon.

Point of order, however, he has not been on the board for 16 years.

McLean joined the board in mid 2013. There is a 9 year max limit, so he will reach 7 years in July.

The role of ARU president, which he performed back in 2005, is not a board director position that can vote on stuff. It's sort of a ceremonial gig, one of three at RA if there are also a couple of deputy presidents presenting jerseys (or whatever) too.

Reading the Nick Taylor bit in the West, looks like John Edwards, RugbyWA chairman, gave his support to McLean before he knew that Rob Clarke had been appointed CEO. Then he he rang Mclean and expressed his concern about Clarke

"RugbyWA chairman John Edwards warns against Rugby Australia’s recent appointment of Western Force-slayer Rob Clarke as interim CEO
