To be fair to Papworth his messages about the wasteful gravy train at Moore Park, the need for more club focussed approach to juniors and their development has been consistent for near on a decade AFAIK. I listened to his radio talk show most weekdays for about 3 years 2013 - 2016 and had a couple of verbal jousts with him. He usually lumped us in with the Rabble and said the costs were unsustainable. He said stuff like the Force "are all our players". At the time only 3-4 were ex-NSW. When Kyle Godwin first debuted " Send him over to the Shite Shield and well see if he's any good." I sent him a list. I think he came around once he saw how many actual WA developed players there were. But even though by the time Clyne boned the Force, many over that way saw the value of WA, perception is reality and it was all too late. Even listening to NFJ, he seemed to think Wobber was our lone WA Wallaby.

    GRR is the way forward.

    Yep.

Pappy seems to have changed his tune slighty. He's still not actually interested in players being in WA tho. I don't trust him.

And NFJ came across with some traces of arrogance in that podcast. Just my opinion.

Seems it took GeeRob a while to see Gerry's post from 24/4. Like he said beware.....

Interesting comments in the subsequent podcast from Andrew Slack and the panel who seem to have similar reservations re That Letter as I did. Interesting comments re rule changes and GRR rules from Slacky too.

Far-Jones has completely missed the problem, he's talking about aligning rugby franchises more strongly to the dysfunctional governance structure in the same breath as admitting that only further freezes out players who aren't already at the table.

Nothing will be fixed until the extraordinary greed and nepotism of the major East Coast cities is reigned in and the governance structure adopts a truly national mindset.

    really enjoying this Podcast.

Must admit I didn't have a lot of time for Pappy - probably a built-up opinion based on Shasta's run-ins from Sydney Sports Radio. I dont think he has all the answers but he definitely is worth listening too. As is Andrew Slack

I agree X - that podcast changed my mind on Papworth. I think he spoke way more sense than Farr-Jones.

Agree Alison and said what not many others would about previous management leaving game broke!! Hope they can get someone in there who can sort it out. This enforced break makes me realise the world without rugby is just less enjoyable all round!!

Err excuse me but there seem to be some around here with short memories or believe that leopards can change spots.
Papworth is not to be trusted as far as I am concerned
From this website on 17-10-14, 13:54
Brett Papworth " Rugby WA and the Western Force are broke"
He is a ratbag, slagging off the Force and Rugby WA saying they waste money and are broke
    Typical Sydney President
