Western Force Team of the Decade

Rugby.com are doing a Super Rugby Team of the decade, starting off with the Reds. Looking forward to their Force Team.

Yeah, I doubt they'll even bother to produce a team for us.

We could do our own. My initial thoughts would be:

    1. Kieran Longbottom
    2. Nathan Charles (although Heath Tessman would run him close)
    3. Pek Cowan (who else?)
    4. Adam Coleman
    5. Nathan Sharpe
    6. Angus Cottrell
    7. Matt Hodgson
    8. Ben McCalman
    9. Ian Prior (for me, just edging Brett Sheehan and Alby Mathewson)
    10. Andrew Deegan (for me, just edging Sias Ebersohn, Jono Lance and Peter Grant - we've not had a long-term 10 that I can recall)
    11. Luke Morahan
    12. Kyle Godwin
    13. Marcel Brache
    14. Nick Cummins
    15. Dane Haylett-Petty

Pocock only play for 3 seasons in the decade, so Hodgo beats him.
Sharpe also only played for 3 seasons, but did we ever have another lock so dominant?

Think you're slightly off there - 7 seasons and 93 caps. But Hodgo still gets the (C). IMO. Here from go to woe (literally) with absolute commitment that's still going.

I think sheikh was talking about seasons in the last decade. Nobody was able to play more than 6 years due to Rea axing the wrong team. I guess we'd need to name a pro-rata team of the decade

    *pedant hat on*

More than 8, or more than 7, depending on what type of pedant you are.

Well, seeing as we are naming a team of the decade in 2019, I'm assuming that for the purposes of the conversation, the decade is being defined as 1st January 2010 to 31st December 2019 (and yes, I do know that's wrong, but it *is* consistent with when the millennium celebrations were held!)

So Sharpe, Pocock and Cam Shepherd played in 2010, 2011 & 2012 (IIRC) which gives them 3 seasons each.

And I'm considering the 2018 & 2019 seasons of the Force in my team, because I can then put Deegan in there, and Prior beats out Sheehan and Mathewson. If I stopped the Force team of the decade in 2017 with the axing from Super Rugby, I'd have to re-assess, and I don't want to do that because it wasn't our fault we got axed.
