Two bumper crowds (hopefully) for both legs of the Grand Final. Big build-up on TV and other media. It was good in the old UEFA Cup.

I definitely like 2nd and 3rd playing off to take on first.

And a 2 legged final does actually sound like quite a good concept.

I dont think scores should resume tho from the previous game, bit like the soccer away points could be worth double so whatever the combined scores are cpuld determine winner or something?

Wpuld be a good way to stretch out the finals

Reason I was thinking scores should continue from the first game was to avoid the look of the thing if the team that lost the second game still gets given the trophy. Better to have the scoreboard tell the story as to who won.

Yep. Loading away points has the possibility of prevailing conditions deciding the outcome.

Lost of interesting discussions saw Matt Hodgson at the Nathan Sharpe Medal night who confirmed that it was a normal Home/Away season plus the single final (to be held in Perth).
I reckon the Samoa article just got the number wrong......

Thats good for this season but there is nothing stopping them experimenting with a few of the good ideas floating around in this thread for some of the coming seasons if the team numbers stay the same. I hope they change it up a little over the first 3 seasons and see what works best. Obviously if more teams enter some more traditional formats could be back on the cards.
