Bay of Plenty in the Mitre 10 cup final . They have a large squad including Sam Cane . This will be fantastic for GRR if it goes ahead !

But they have to get past the Mighty Hawkes Bay Magpies first at 2.35pm on Friday (WST)

Prem final is Tasman v Wellington at 1.05pm on Saturday (WST), no Canterbury for a change this year

They should provide the Force with some reasonable competition next season.

    Tough match.

Well it will be a big year for the Steamers if they are now stepping up to Champs and also starting a GRR team.

Let's say they get their squad together and really build cohesion over 3-4 months through the Rapid Rugby season. Make the final, win the million. Or even not win the million but still head into the Mitre-10 as a well-oiled machine with <ahem> a head of steam.

Might just generate some trans-tasman GRR interest. Y'never knows ....
