    Force vs Melb - Sun 3pm - Round 3 NRC 2019

Will we see Phil the Hill for the Welborn-Hodgson Shield defence on Sunday against the Rising?

A question on notice while we await the team announcements...

    Western Force vs Melbourne Rising
UWA Sports Park – McGillivray Oval
Curtain Raiser – North vs South, Perth Gold Trials.
    Family activities from 2pm AWST,
    Kick-off at 3pm AWST

Perth Gold - Is this still the amateur rep side of old - or are we talking an age-group thing here?

The trial is for a NRC II carnival in Adelaide for the minor states. So that would be a an amateur rep side.

Thanks. Well that's good to see.

I know RA ran that comp last year without WA getting an invite. Fair chance of winning it perhaps.

Obviously they also ran the Aon Uni 7s for two years without a women's team from here as well. Finally UWA get an invite for 2019.

He's been back for about 6 months I think - been training with the Force. Did well last week.

Along with the Brisbane Tens exclusion, can you believe that shit? And eastern-staters wondered why the WA rugby community were so up in arms.

    It's worth doing some homework.

If I recall RugbyWA elected NOT to nominate a team for the Brisbane 10s.

I am unsure of why a Perth Gold team wasn't involved in the IState comp but, in both cases, it could have been due to lack of funds.

The actual wording of media articles were after talks with 'several parties' there were concerns the Force wouldn't be strong enough.

So I would think the ARU/RA wanted the Rebels team to have the new Force players with them and making no or little concessions for this event as far as talent was concerned and/or RugbyWA realising there was no point.

Kind of like how the Melbourne team kept the ex Force players in their NRC side since the cut.
