Rugby Australia chief executive Raelene Castle will be grilled about support for the game in WA when she visits Perth today.
Castle will be questioned by Sports Minister Mick Murray during her first visit to the state in more than a year and two years since the Western Force was controversially axed from Super Rugby.
“Western Australian rugby fans are still, two years after the fact, seeking an explanation from Rugby Australia as to how they intend to support the game in this state,” Murray said.
“This will be the first question I ask when I meet with Rugby Australia.”
Castle will also hold talks with RugbyWA as it battles to repay a $1million government loan that has put a question mark over the future of the grassroots game.

I hope he calls them out on their bullshit promise to support WA and tels them they have completly lost the support of the WA government and all future funding arrangements between RA and the WA government are over and there will be no suppprt for the Wallabies here until a genuine effort is put in place to support the grassroots game here.

What RA did can never be forgiven.

So I wonder what happened at the meeting yesterday. ? I cannot see any feel good statements from either party.

Who else did she meet with in WA? RugbyWA? Twiggy?

Probably just some pointless lip service with nothing resembling anything constructive.

What odds she answered the question with "Good news, we are so committed to WA we will let you give us another $5M for another Bledisloe!!"...?

Oh, and BTW; Foxtel are screwing us over for funding to run the NRC. Sooooooooooo....could you have a word in Mr Forrest's ear and see if he can see his way to funding the Force running costs..........oh and the Rabble too. After all most of their list are ex-Force players and you might want them back when the Rabble are boned in 2020.

This is a political game to squeeze more money out and hopefully get the IP back as the RA didn’t follow through on their word to return it.

Murray is a patron of Rugby WA, didn’t realise it till I read the annual report so he has no intention of demanding the outstanding debt be paid. Demanding it will risk losing a tenant and badly affect the relationship between the WA Government and Rugby WA.

Raelene Castle in town having cosy coffees and apparently claiming a ‘great’ relationship with Mindaroo. Would that approach happen to coincide with the death of League of Nations idea, and now they need Plan b,c,d, to z to get themselves out of doggy doo-doo. Or am I just being very cynical.

Yep. He made that call in UnZud last year. Castle is staying in the same hotel as the Maroons and one of the Mungo hacks (Peter Biddel) put 2 & 2 together, came up with 5 and decided to play the "ARLC needs to use the fighting fund to keep him in RL" card. Saying Cheika has already spoken to Ponga - anything for some click bait.

Born in Pt. Hedland, grew up in NZ & Qld, very smart, mature kid - Why TF would anyone think he'd want to play for the Wobblies?

In any event if Castle tried to contact Ponga she'd probably be gang tackled by The Axe and Boxhead when she got out of the lift.

Not even Australian's want to stay and play for the Wallabies, they're off overseas, so why on earth would a kiwi want to play in gold?

Easy money, no expectations and not good enough to play for the All Blacks. (Pete Samu)
