Western Force coach Tim Sampson says rugby must quickly evolve if it is going to compete with other sports and bring fans back to the game.
Global Rapid Rugby, set up by Perth mining magnate Andrew Forrest after Rugby Australia controversially axed the Force from Super Rugby, has already introduced innovations.
They include no direct kick to touch from inside the 22-metre line, keeping the ball in play longer, and the nine-point long-range power try.
