    It says:

Find out everything you need to know about which Global Raid Rugby matches are broadcast here.

rapidrugby.com live stream not available in Australia & New Zealand

    <snip>

    Asia
    Live on Fox Sports Asia

    New Zealand
    Live on Sky TV

All other regions can view the live stream in the watch window below.

    So, basically:
    • 7 of the 12 games to come will have TV production = broadcast and streaming
    • If you are outside of Aus/NZ (dunno about Asia) then you can stream from the Rapid Rugby site

In this case it would be a travesty if the Force fans missed out.
Perfectly normal for a competition which is insular. GRR is trying to grow rugby in other areas, so it's the very opposite of insular!

Give us an example of teams playing against other teams where one of the teams countries isnt broadcasting it but the competition is broadcast everywhere else?

The AFL broadcasts local sides as part of it's TV Rights agreement. Here in Perth we always get the West Coast and Fremantle games, same goes for the other interstate sides in their home states (Qld, NSW, SA).

in the NRL the Brisbane Bronco's get heaps of Thursday and Friday night fixtures so that Channel 9 can televise them into Queensland.

Ultimately it will come down to whether or not a network wants to televise the game.

Quite common in North American markets if a game isn't sold out for the home TV market to have a black-out on the game. It's an incentive to get people to buy tickets at the last moment (which may either lead to the black-out being lifted, or at least tries to get a large home crowd.)

And this is America - home of capitalism and big bucks TV networks, allowing a system where the TV network can't show the game to the local area (and hence losing big advertising revenue) but still has to show the game to elsewhere in the country.

I remember the cricket doing it many years ago, not sure about the AFL.

I agree with it, my only problem is this isnt being broadcast at all. So out of towners etc have got no chance to support.

FTA used to show the home game of Freo/West Coast on a delay of 30 mins to an hour and the away game live.

These are for home games though. You wouldnt expect all the Force fans to buy a ticket to Japan. At the very least there should be a stream available if they are playing an away game.

But that is for local games where you can actually get to, this is an away game in Japan.

And for the record all the cricket matches are shown on foxsports for all away games and cricket network plays all the other mish mash games through cricket.com.au

It is unfathomable for an away game to be played but not broadcast in the country / state they come from
