    Greatest Sports Upset?

What was the greatest sports upset that you remember?

For me it was the 1980 USA Olympic hockey team beating the Russians than going on to win the Gold medal. In 1980 the US didn't send professional athletes to the olympics. The Russians where the powerhouse team. They actually beat a NHL (pros) all star team earlier that year along with a 10-3 whooping of the US olympic team before the olympics. But for one day a team of college kids beat the mighty Russians. It's known here as "The Miracle on Ice". If you don't know the story rent the movie "Miracle" one day, it's worth watching.

hmm I'd have to say when Australia knocked New Zealand out of the last RWC. People had been calling Eddie and the team shite for months, giving us no hope, sack the coach etc etc ... and those immortle words uttered by Gregan with only a few minutes left "Four more years boys!"

    hahahahahahha

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

It wasn't really an upset win just a complete laugh - Steven Bradbury, Australias Gold Medal winning Ice Skater.

Gosh, that Bradbury win was astounding and hilarious all at once. A great moment, for the one left standing!

thanks to jessc who sent me the dvd (thanks so so so much) of the force vs crucaders game, that of course ended in a draw....with those two late unaccepted tries! what a close game! and what an upset even though it was a draw listening to the commentry they still expected the force to lose it again in a close one. not the worlds greatest upset i know but i thought worth a mention.

ps does anyone else have copies of force games from last year that they could possibly send me? i have one game (thanks again jessc) and i have watched it no joke 10 times in the last week.if anyone could help out that would be awesome.....i miss the super 14

Bangladesh over Australia in England last summer.
Australia II taking the Americas Cup from (block your ears Larry) those arrogant bastard Yanks
Tonga beating the Wallabies back in the 70's (to prove it can get worse than '05-'06)
Not greatest evers but finalists I would think?

Scotland beating England in 1990 to win the Grand Slam - England were the most ridiculous short-price favourites & had all their celebratory merchandise printed in advance of the match at Murrayfield. You could cut the tension with a knife during the preceding week & oh my god, what an amazing party afterwards!!!

I'm going to have to agree with Flex here... I was at the game and it was such a shame when we came away with a draw... I still belive there were 2 tries that should have been awarded to the Force.
