Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

Agreed that it is no longer, should never have gone away from the old twelve meter days.
It was a sport back then though, all be it a rich man's one.
It must be a sport, why else would a nine year old in outback WA be allowed to stay awake in the dim wee hours of the morning listening to a crackly radio broadcast of the final race?!
Fremantle was the beginning of the end and now I couldn't care less, bloody hell, a land locked country is defending it

Especially for our "TWF resident" Scots, this would have to rank right up there and is a current event too:

"Scotland teen Andy Murray shocked Roger Federer 7-5, 6-4 in the second round of the Cincinnati Masters Series today (AEST), ending the Swiss superstar's run of 17 consecutive finals.

Federer's run ended just one short of the record set by Ivan Lendl in 1981-82."

top quality performance by the young Scotsman - this one ain't no pretty boy (choker) Henman.....he's tough as old nails (fyi, he was at the Dunblane Primary School when that nutter killed all the kids) and is going to be a real to be reckoned with.

I really have no clue as to when it was or what happened. I do know that it's a sailboat race and that's it. My guess would be that 97 out of 100 sports fans here would have no idea about that race. And very few would of listened to it on the radio!

I'd guess that 97 out of 100 AUSTRALIAN sports fans here (TWF) would know exactly what it's all about, especially as it is regarded in the top five Western Australian sporting achievements of all time Larry
Australia II was from the Royal Perth Yacht Club and ended the 132 year hold by the US on the "Auld Mug".
Outside of WA you may well be correct.
In any case, the "most known upset" doesn't have to equal "the greatest upset" does it?

97 out of 100 here in Oz know it as The America's Cup. Certainly due for a change of name by now, The land locked Swiss Kiwis have it now, should make for an interesting series next time around

Wow I'm amazed. I never would of guessed it was that big. Well in that case I'm glad you all won, it certianly sounds like you appreciated the win more. Here's to keeping the cup down there

Edit: We had it for 132 years? No wonder we were arrogant!
