Well other than the final it looks hugely unpopular.

Wasn't it Pappy that started the "relocate the Force to Western Sydney" meme ?

The Battle of the Beaches between Manly and Warringah draws more punters to those games than the Force saw against the Tigers. But yes, largely they are the exception rather than the rule. The average in the Shute Shield is probably 1500-2000 when everything is taken into account. But the clubs are definitely tiered in that.Clubs like the Two Blues and Wests would be lucky to get a few hundred while the 'bigger' clubs would draw anywhere between 1500-2500 game to game.

Thing is, despite the all the hub bub about it's growth having been watching the competition for 21 years and playing for one of the clubs it's not actually all that much more than it has historically drawn in my time. The TV ratings certainly don't reflect some huge growth in popularity either.

I didn’t know much at all about club rugby before last year. But having visited every Premiership club last season, I find I now enjoy those games as much as I do the professional games. The passion and deep rivalry is great to see.

Well said . Not sure it will be well received ! Talking of half backs I think Isaac Fines is a fantastic prospect and would fit into most SR plans . To me he has an Aaron Smith look about him ... then there’s Ryan Louwrens .. it still pisses me off how his talent was squandered by RA ineptitude

On the back of JSJ’s post (well done BTW), Tom English has also been a good supporter for GRR with his articles, so perhaps the bigger positivity pushes we can make via media can build a bigger audience ie bums on seats. Having listened to The Rugby Ruckus discussing GRR rules where Tiranui & Cannon were rather reticent on the comp in my view. So why not invite Rugby Ruckus boys to a GRR game so they get the full game experience? Have been disappointed with the marketing aspect so far-I think we’re really missing the Marvin touch.
