Biting allegation mars Queensland's Super W win against Rugby WA

I watched it live. The WA girls did well. It was just the 2 intercept tries and the yellow cards that cost them. Liz Patu should be in trouble for biting Bec Clough, pretty low act from the Wallaroos captain. WA travel to Melbourne to face the Rebels Women next and should be improved with the run against Queensland.

Queensland's second consecutive Super W victory has been marred by a biting allegation against Wallaroos Captain Liz Patu.

Two second-half intercepts helped the Queensland Women's XV to a 28-3 win against Rugby WA but they were forced to work much harder than in last week's record victory against the Rebels.

Queensland scored four tries to run out comfortable winners in the end.

But the match was marred by an allegation by WA forward Rebecca Clough that she was bitten by Patu in a ruck close to her own line.

They did play well but were their own worst enemies, setting up some good phases & then dropping balls and poor passes killed them. Pbly just need to focus together more, and defence was really good. Biting from a Walleroos captain is unbelievable -surely she’ll be gone for a long while for that!

I was watching the game and couldn't believe it when I saw Patu pushing Clough's arm towards her mouth so she could bite it.

Awful to see and the WA girl who went for the hair pull needs to also wind her neck in. This isn’t acceptable in a primary school let alone a senior Rugby pitch.

I see that the Rebels copped a 69-0 hiding.

Hair pulling is a bullshit rule, if you wanna go out there with your hair tied loosely like a fucken dickhead and get it pulled then that’s your problem, don’t want it pulled put it in a bun or braid it. Gotta be hair smart tbh

Apart from being a high tackle (as you going at a player above the line of the shoulder) it is a pathetic thing to do. The Reds player wasn’t that far ahead of her and WA had cover there. It kicked off a fight where you run the risk of conceding a card.

I'm 87. I'm trapped in a 50s playground. I was hoping to make a joke, but failed dismally. Izy has all the manly virtues, he didn't pull Leyds hair, and he's not a sook or homophobe. Happy?

Thats actually pretty consistent with Rugby Australias inability to discipline its top players properly. Beale gets a free pass to do whatever, JOC was the same, KHunt and Slipper got slaps on the wrist for cocaine use, Quade called the Wallabies culture toxic and got nothing, Israel Folau got a new contract for his homophobic tweets. Would you expect anything less from an organization that is at the mercy of its player base?

Has there been any talk about stripping her of the captaincy? I've not heard anything.

Mind you, national captains getting bans and not being stripped of the captaincy isn't unheard of - eg, Dylan Hartley.

    Agreed Kalahard.

Sheikh hell no. It was a Wallaroos team mate she bit. Not quiet Richard Loe- Greg Cooper level but inexcusable and won’t be a happy camp if both are selected.

Hartley didn’t even lose his captaincy at Northampton after getting sent off for calling Wayne Barnes a cheat against Leicester in a Premiership Final. Cost him a Lions Tour.
