Anyone going to the RWC this year?

PintofWhisky and I are going over to the RWC this year.

There is (or at least was) spaces on a trip in September 'Escorted by Matt Hodgson'* with tickets for the matches: NZ v SA, Ire v Sco, Eng v USA, Aus v Wal. There's quite a good tour itinerary for the non-rugby days, too.**

Anyone else going to Japan on this, or another tour, or self-organised?

Does a tour with 2 TWFers and an ex-Force player count as a InnForcers tour?

[* Not sure what 'escorted' means - I don't know if he's going to be with us for 11 days, or just on the match days.]
[** Blooming expensive, but when else am I going to get to see a world cup?]

I really wish I could go, I always regret not going on the Force tour to Japan for the SunWolves game

Been to a couple, won't be bothering with this one, was excited about it back in 2016 but these days I'm happy to watch it on free to air TV.

Want to go to France in 2023 instead. Also want to do the Lions tour to South Africa in 2021.

Not this year. Japan doesn't really interest me as a destination to visit. Glad the ticket sales have been strong to date.

I did the Semi, Qtrs & Final in UnZed back in 2011 and I don't think Japan will beat that experience..so no I will watch the Wobblies get knocked out of the comp from my couch at home.

Would highly recommend the Lions Tour even if you don’t support either side and/or the RWC in France. Stay in holiday rentals in France more space and you can do some of the cooking if you are on a budget. Staying in small hotels in France in September when it can be hot isn’t pleasant and claustrophobic.

Cheers Bakkies! I’ll definitely be supporting the Lions! And the chariots in RWC 2023

No worries if you have a car you can stay in high quality houses for prices that are way cheaper than what you pay in Australia. Car rental is far cheaper than Aus. Experience real France. You don’t want to be too far out and car dependent as you want to be drinking €4 bottles of wine. It won’t be high season as schools go back early September usually the first week.

Haggle if they demand Saturday to Saturday rentals as it often doesn’t work out with flights and match schedules.

    No.

You need the Force to be playing for InnForcers tour.

I was going to go but then RA shat all over the Force so therefore I give zero fucks about the Wallabies. As much as I wish they get knocked out at the group stage I can't see it happening.

Going to go and watch Australia get belted in the Ashes instead.

Only 1 game on the schedule has the Wallabies playing, and I might well be going for Wales during it.

They won’t get belted. Smith and Warner will be back by then.
