The teams. Hawaii is confirmed.

It does say potential, I doubt any of those are confirmed until there is an official announcement and World Rugby put a stamp on it.
My mail is this website was used during the recent global media meeting that Hodgo attended.
Is it really Global? Perhaps just Rapid Rugby is more suitable??

80 Minutes, 15 Positions, No Protection, Wanna Ruck?
Ruck Me, Maul Me, Make Me Scrum!
Education is Important, but Rugby is Importanter!
I did prefer world series rugby but hey that we will have some rugby to watch next year will do me!!
There can’t be any official announcement until World Rugby have formally signed off on it at their meeting in London next week.
I think most people will just call it Rapid Rugby but the addition of the word ‘global’ shows Twiggy’s trademark ambition! I imagine the folks at RA will shorten it to GRR!!
Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby

World Series Rugby has undergone another name change and will be called Global Rapid Rugby when the $1 million tournament kicks off next season.
It is understood the radical move came after talks with governing body World Rugby because of the similarity to their title.
WR is also considering using a similar name for its new planned international 12-team tournament.
The newly-named GRR, bankrolled by mining magnate Andrew Forrest, has morphed from the original title of Indo-Pacific Rugby, through Asia-Pacific Rugby to World Series Rugby, the seven invitational games played last season by the Western Force.
The final make-up of the new competition is getting closer.
"Like the competition itself, the final make-up of the teams and countries that will play Rapid Rugby in 2019 continues to evolve,” they say on a new website.

I understand that the name change comes from feedback from World Rugby, Apparently World Rugby are going to launch their own World Series with the global calendar?
Another possible roadblock you'd assume launching World Series Rugby in a US State my infringe on trademarks of the World Series etc but Global Rapid Rugby sounds a bit "hit and giggle" like.
Just wait until we get Zooper Drop Goals or something...

i've heard that in GRR there will be no drawn games, if the scores are level at 80 mins, the match will be decided by the first drop goal, called a double zooper.
the crowd will be informed of the 80 min mark by playing an old Abba hit.
so if the captain of the waratahs scores a drop goal in extra time against the force, the headline would be 'super trouper double zooper hooper pooper'.
cider my arse
Really dont like the name but eh atleast ee get to see some good rugby next year instead of the super rugby bore fest we get treated to every year. Not sure why they chose "Rapid" though, even something like Performance Rugby or Adrenaline Rugby or if they wanted to keep it tame then Global Power Rugby or even Global Revolution Rugby would be better than "Rapid" but yeah its a fancy website so I guess its here to stay so I better just get onboard.
