Great preview of GRR in the Newcastle Herarld.

Western Force: Western Australia has the third - and soon to be second - highest participation rate of rugby union players in any state

If that statement is true the entire RA board should fold today and start up an entirely new organisation. Clyne and Pulver are a fucking disgrace!

Good to see some promo from the other side.

I think he's wrong about the Fijians, though. They will be plenty fit enough and basically have 3 NRC seasons + a full cycle the Pacific Challenge + last year's Pacific showcase in Rapid Rugby under their belt.

There wouldn't be any team in the comp more prepared - although their vulnrerabilities will be perhaps discipline and playing in wintery cold venues.

I reckon the power rankings would be be:

    (1) Force ... then
(2&3) Lions and Latui (in no particular order),
    (4) Tigers .. unless they get physically bashed.
(5 & 6) Manuma and Valke (dunno about the order)

Lots of General admission blocks, so I don't think that means much, but if ticketed seats are that popular, we might get a pretty good turnout.
Hopefully i would say the vast majority of Members will be in the General GA, and that most of the already sold Grandstand seats are Members too. So just depends how many single ticket holders there are, i feel force will be happy if we get 12/13k to the game When Fiji and Samoa come will hopefully be higher.

Just heard Mark the CEO on the radio. It’s heartbreaking that all the work gone into this season is going to be decimated by what’s happening! I’ll be there Tonight but I know a lot people wont be 😢

A potential airline partner for Rapid Rugby?

Andrew Forrest joins 20 bidders circling Virgin Australia
By Patrick Hatch and Sarah Danckert
    April 30, 2020 — 2.32pm

Mining magnate Andrew "Twiggy" Forrest has emerged as a possible bidder for Virgin Australia, as administrators of the collapsed airline say 20 potential buyers are vying to keep the carrier alive.

Deloitte partner Vaughan Strawbridge told a first meeting of Virgin's creditors on Thursday that initial offers for the airline would be due in just over a fortnight. However, the firm will seek to delay a second meeting of creditors - where they can vote on any takeover deal - by up to three months.

Sources confirmed that billionaire miner Mr Forrest, who controls Australia's third-largest miner Fortescue Metals, has spoken to investment bankers about a potential tilt for Virgin. Other heavy hitters weighing up a bid are BGH Capital (backed by AustralianSuper), American airline investor Indigo Partners, Wesfarmers, American distressed debt specialists Oaktree, and Canadian asset manager Brookfield, which is exploring a joint bid with Macquarie.

Mr Forrest's interest was first reported by The Australian Financial Review.

He has put himself in the shit. Mr Forrests obsession with China has made him an enemy in alot of Australians eyes.

I must say its bizarre behaviour. I know alot here fawn over him so it would be interesting to see how they saw Twiggy's behaviour with Long Zhou at the press conferance. Not sure what posessed him to do such a stunt..

China covered up the seriousness of the virus. Pretty much admitted in the Senate Inquiry. I sense China will get a humongous bill similar to what Germany got after WWII. That took at least 50 years to pay off. Germany never went to war again.
