Is there a possibility we could know the outcome of the meeting Prior to the announcement from Andrew Forrest after 9am WAST? Or will it all be tight lipped until his prerecorded announcement providing World Rugby dont backflip on the comp

If it doesn't get approval, they can remove one-man from the field, call it a "a new hybrid code, halfway between league and union...

This is pretty positive. It also has a bit of a tweak on the sides that will/could be playing. Nick Taylor is usually pretty close to the mark. There is also a bit in the story about Jaque Fourie off to the US for the World Cup. That's a shame but good luck to him and thanks for hat he has done.

Andrew Forrest’s Global Rapid Rugby competition set to get tick of approval

Global Rapid Rugby is expected to get the green light overnight, a move that will see Western Force battle seven sides from Japan, Fiji, Samoa, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia next year.
The competition is tipped to be rubber-stamped by the sport’s governing body World Rugby when it meets in London.
New laws hoped to be used in GRR and designed to speed up the game are also being considered.

My mail has it that the entire FMG are looking to relocate from Hyatt Centre, which I believe is going to have a major refurbishment soon, and I would guess that GRR Offices and Minderoo would be included in this relocation.

There is an empty Woodside Building at the top of the terrace that might fit them all in.

It's really positive that Malaysia is in the mix.

I see Australia lost the bid to NZ for Womans World Cup. So that was voted on already.

Yet another loss to NZ this year. Clyne and Castle did the presentation, no need to say more.

I wonder how much that bid cost the RA.

What a stupid name for a competition.
I remember when there was frustration at “the rugby championship” as a comp name & it sounding ridiculous.

Minderoo has done the old “hold my beer”

That said though. A competition with a silly name is better than none at all; and certainly better than glorified exhibition matches by part time players. So i’ll probably get on board
