3 team and 4 team competitions definitely work. Just look at the Tri-nations/ Rugby Championship/ Americas Rugby Championships/ and various Pacific Nation championships that have been done to death over the years. Infact 3 to 4 team competitions have been the norm in rugby for as long as I can remember, and even going back to the days before the 6nations became the 5nations when it was the 4nations.

Global Rapid Rugby need to understand that the fans don't want another meaningless exhibition series when we have enough sides to kick off our own tournament. It doesn't have to be flash, and it doesn't even need to count towards the Global Rapid Rugby trophy cabinet it can just be a once off 4 team showcase series (home and away- with a final series for added bonus) to fill the void.

The people trying their best to get GRR up and running have business, Rugby and life experience enough to know what can be achieved this year and more importantly what can't. Not to mention the funds to make it happen. We are not privvy to all the facts, so what you need to understand is that you are not qualified to come on here and lecture people about what they need to understand.

There - I've fixed the comment.

Happy to express my own opinions on the TWF blog thanks.

PS I haven't enough money to contribute to our own tournament.
I'm also more than happy to cough up for 2 memberships and participate rather than dictate as my meagre $$s don't buy me a seat at the table.

I found him a discounted shirt - but, no. It was the wrong size.

I thought that when Ma stepped down from Alibaba he said he wanted to concentrate on education.

I know that doesn't necessarily preclude him from owning a team (I mean, he makes Forrest look poor) but I don't recall much on the news of him being linked to a team after the initial speculation. Also, China isn't short on billionaires who might be persuaded to fund a team, especially if sevens is involved and Olympic medals are a possibility.

I am still happy with what the guys are doing and think they are doing a great job. Can only imagine how hard it is trying to get this up and running. If we play 4 of the teams that are pencilled in plus a few extra teams I will be happy as a fat spider.

I feel for the players more than the fans. A rugby career does not last very long and it is sad to think these guys might look back on their careers and think I spent 2 years of my career playing for nothing, was it worth it? Anyone who has played the game plays because they love it but winning games and competitions is a big driver so I agree hopefully they can get some sort of comp going rather than exhibition games.

I think they are only contracted for the term of the season though, so could go and play competitive rugby elsewhere for the other 6 months of the year??

    Maybe someone can confirm?

Iron ore prices could be heading back to $US100 a tonne, in the short term at least, according to the Commonwealth Bank.

Iron ore is currently trading about $US87 a tonne on the spot market, its highest price in almost a year.

The price rise has put a rocket under the big miners, with Rio Tinto and BHP gaining 14 per cent and 8 per cent respectively since the start of the year, while Fortescue was up more than 40 per cent.

Maybe GRR is here to stay and hopefully replace superdooper rugby that no one watches anymore. Actually I lie, apparently the kiwi teams are still watched I hear

Any truth to the rumour there may be a rugby fixutre at NiB on 29th March? Could it be the Force - Hong Kong match?
