Hello everyone,
If anyone is free this evening, please do come on down to the Heights Bar and Bistro in Alexander Heights at 7.30pm to hear all about the fantastic work of a new WA charity called P2SRugyWorks set up by Sea of Blue member, Fraser Griggs.
The charity is based on the Dallaglio RugbyWorks programme set up in the UK by former England rugby captain, Lawrence Dallaglio.
P2SRugbyWorks is essentially a life skills development program based on the values of rugby union. Its aim is to help marginalised young people who have been excluded from mainstream education get back into education and, ultimately, training and employment. It has two local, high-profile rugby players as ambassadors – Marcel Brache and Bec Clough.
The program uses coaches who work with small groups of young people with the aim of equipping them with life skills based around the values of rugby union. For example, they nurture the development of strong relationships by organising games such as touch rugby that promote communication, leadership, teamwork and aspiration. This is backed with classroom sessions and work experience to enable them to aspire to a successful future back in mainstream society.
It’s an incredibly worthy programme so we would love you to come and hear all about it and become part of it.
And if that doesn’t tempt you, Marcel and Bec will be there tonight so you could always maybe bring something for them to sign - I’m sure they wouldn’t mind 😜
