And what else would you expect, this is going hurt them over there real bad, they never wanted it and never thought it would happen.

I think the key point is that they have endorsed the comp, if they had said they were not going to do so, every hack from the coast would have a two page dossier about how wrong it was even try get such a comp going etc etc.

Take all your negative crap and post it on GnG or wherever else it belongs.

Hope that last sentence is not aimed at me!

I agree with Nick Taylor, that is the biggest thing since rugby went professional in 1995 and the eastern staters are trying to ignore it or have not noticed it.

Am hoping the news really does hurt ‘em bad. Georgina’s lost her voice? TWAS has gone into hiding, and not a peep out of the rest of them. TUFF TITTIES! LOL! Now we’ll be accused of mocking the East Coat and not supporting Aus rugby, and causing SR to collapse.

Its refreshing seeing Forrests energy to make this happen. It would probably have been a 5 year project to get off the ground if Rugby Australia went anywhere near it.
What it means is that Andrew Forrest and his team can now start building with confidence on the groundwork already done ahead of the final approval which is pretty much a rubber stamping. Unless of course RA come up with some extra delaying tactics. But I can't see that happening now the pressure is on from World Rugby and especially with what Gosper said about welcoming a man with a cheque book. RA should have taken a leaf from his book when Andrew Forrest went calling and they wouldn't be in this mess. Sympathy - nah.

The Roar hasn't got any fresh articles up. That's how you get Trainwreck.

There are some parties on the east coast aside from the western Sydney Rams that will be happy about this. Will be interesting to see where that team will play as the new Parramatta Stadium will likely have the Bulldogs, Parra, Wests Tigers and the Wanderers as tenants.

I see that Twiggy has set up the administration run by the clubs like EPCR with him in charge. They will no doubt destroy Sanzaar in terms of sponsors and like Europe could go down the competition sponsors route which takes pressure off the clubs.

Why should I be astonished that there has not been a single word written or spoken in the eastern states media about this, at least nothing I can find. We criticise our west media because of its AFL domination (and that is understandable sometimes) yet The West has broken a story that is huge for rugby, not just in Aus but internationally and yet the eastern states hacks choose to ignore it. Now why am I not surprised?

Need to be cool a little bit about media coverage.

There has been no press release from WSR/Minderoo either.

Hold off for that because this likely means there are still a few hurdles, despite the WR exco recommendation and reported quotes from Forrest that he is confident for 2019 (both of which are good news).

    Ah, okay, fair enough.

I note that it's dated today, though, rather than yesterday.

And it seems like the same info and photo that was on Business News yesterday. Nothing about a Mitre-10 All Star team, etc.

Reckon there might be still a few hurdles to get over.

But, yeah, the WR exco recommendation is a good, positive step for sure.

So, the story was broken by Nick Taylor before the date of the release. I'd say he was doing his job and got in first. Rightly or wrongly he is the one that mentions "all stars" not the press release so maybe he has picked up some more info. Guess he is doing his job again. unlike our eastern states hacks whose silence has been deafening.

I've got to say, I don't think there would have been press releases like this if Bill Pulver had still been there, under instruction from Cameron Clyne. I'm sure that getting to this point would have been a massive task, with opposition. Thanks to Raelene Castle for her work and strength to get RA's support, and hoping she'll continue to help to make the dream a reality.
