Bit rough on the boys - Sunday game in Canberra, fly back Sunday night then back out to Qld (5-6hr flight?) on Friday. Bloody hell! Hope there was enough time to sort out the holes in the Vikings game.

Wouldn't it be smarter to fly direct to Qld from Canberra and spend the week in a hotel?

Spoke to Lizzy Sat night & she said they were flying back after the game, as they only get 1nights accommodation provided by RA.

Doesn't RA pay for the flights?
I'm no aviation expert but would four air fares back and forth be cheaper than two with a few nights on a uni campus where the accommodation would be well below hotel prices I suspect.

Not in Australia the land where domestic flights can cost more than a return flight from Sydney to London. If it is Uni holidays the accommodation may end up being free.

Western Force v Queensland Country Team Announcement

    September 21, 2018

The Western Force have reshuffled their centres to take on reigning champions and current ladder leaders Queensland Country on Saturday at Bond University.

Rodney Iona will move up from the bench to start as the inside centre with Henry Taefu moving to outside centre.

Marcel Brache has moved from centre to play on the right wing opposite Rod Davies, with Masivesi Dakuwaqa moving to the bench.

Coach Tim Sampson said this weekend’s match-up is a good opportunity to see what this combination can do.

“With Rodney at 12 he offers us a bit more of that ball-playing role at inside centre. I thought he structured our attack really well and
Henry Taefu has had an outstanding last game so we hope he can continue that at outside centre,” Sampson said.

“And then with Marcel jumping on the wing, we thought the combination through 12, 13 and wing deserved that opportunity this week.”

One of the series’ star players Chris Alcock will sit out this week after strong performances in three tough games with Nedlands player Tevin Ferris shifting position to replace him. Harrison Orr will run out for his NRC first start moving up to play as flanker.

Henry Stowers has joined the team in Brisbane and will make his NRC debut as number 20 on the reserves. Sampson thinks Stowers has been outstanding in training over the last three to four weeks and will make a big impact on this match.

“Henry will be very good coming off the bench, he has been waiting for this opportunity,” Sampson says.

“He’s a really good impact player, he’s strong and powerful and that’s what we will be looking for in our forwards this weekend.”

Note: Queensland Country v Western Force, Saturday September 22 at Bond University Rugby Field. Kick off at 1pm AWST.
Broadcast LIVE on Fox Sports 503.
