And they adhere to every professional standard that's expected of high ranking bank executives

I wouldn't touch league execs with a fifty ft barge pole. The likes of Kevin Neil (Raiders), Penn (Manly), Dib (Bulldogs), Fitzgerald (Parra) and Waldron (Storm, Rabble and St Kilda) have destroyed clubs. The NRL is run by a politician who flip flops like a back bencher crossing the floor while waiting for a parish pump back hander. Greenberg should have nominated for the upcoming by elections this weekend. Their referees are run by two incompetents one of them refuses to sack his brother. No thanks even though de Clyne and co are far worse.

Rugby actually promoted itself well from 98 to 2004. Players were getting mainstream exposure and high profile sponsorships (I am not talking about vitamins that don't work) like it is now with the game in Ireland. Even during the Gary Flowers era test match crowds were strong and the Waratahs were pulling in 30,000 to their home matches. Brumbies v Waratahs matches featured week long hype and talk of hatred played out in the press. Six years ago the Reds pulled in more members than the Broncos.

Rugby in Australia knows how to pull in the punters and drum up coverage however boneheaded recruitment decisions (the Reds hiring Dick Graham took the biscuit), jobs for the boys, cliques and people profiting from funds belonging to the game to support their own self interest (this is rife across clubs in Australia not just the Rabble).

Rugby Australia desperately needs a Chairman and a CEO that has experience managing a sport in Australia.

Board members from AFL or Rugby League or even Basketball would be ideal.
There was a women who's name escapes me put forward that met all the criteria above and more. Would of been perfect. She didn't even get a response from RA. Instead they appointed another old boy's club member Phil Waugh.

From Perth which was an immediate black mark against her. Alan Jones mentioned her name in an article or one one of his shows.
