So that means the two games played by the Western Force are the first and second most attended rugby matches in Australia this year!

Clever move by Twiggy offering too little money to Rat's Arse and ensuring that they kicked the Force our of SuperFicialRugby it's obvious that all those tickets and ratings numbers are not what Rugby is all about.

I think you need to add number of actual humans actually present at any rebels game, because their crowd counting bloke seems to struggle once he has to take his shoes off

Well the Tahs verse the lions was about 6k. Brookvale I doubt was 15k probably closer to 13k if we are lucky.

All the Rebels figures include the 5k tickets they GIVE away for free every game so maybe we should change it to " paid attendance " instead to get a more accurate reflection.

Its hillarious just how bad those crowds are in such huge population centres. Out of a combined population of around 16-18 million they average around 36k a week across all the teams, thats disastrous for any sporting product and shows that the east coast game is in 'crisis'

None of those teams deserve a place in superrugby at the moment based on both performance and their fan interest.

    Come on Clyne, Resign!

Other than the unit trusts it would explain the incredibly large amount of RA funding spent on the rebels.

We'll, yeah. Everybody gives free tickets away, but if we gave away 5000 tickets a game, that's less than 1/3 of the crowd, There is a difference

    (*hearsay alert*)
According to a couple of Likely Lads in Lindfield, it's not the attendance numbers which are the problem, even though the ARU/RA appears to be fixated on those numbers at present.
The elephant in the ARU/RA room remains the continual cash drain which is the Melbourne Rebels (and the way that things are is going, perhaps one or more of the other three Australian franchises as well).

ARU/RA can dress up their books in whichever ways they want to - it's the net cash flow which eventually will be the killer.

    we are doing just that.
3,000 free tickets were offered up for the Force vs Fiji game which had an attendance of 19,500 or so. Which means 16,000 people still paid for tickets.

5,000 tickets are offered up to Rebel supporters every week and 5,500 turned up to watch the game (Rebels vs Jaguares)..

After the ARU/RA spreadsheet debacle the gloves are off, ill paint the picture the way I like, afterall the RA did set this very dangerous precedent.

Anyways a good chunk of the free ticket holders didnt turn up on sunday to the Force vs Tonga game, i know this for a fact, because I was sitting in E230 in a free ticket row and we were almost sitting in the free row by ourselves... infact most of the free rows were empty and it was all the surrounding seats that were packed. - So how do I know where all the free ticket rows are I hear you ask? Because we you sign up a junior they send you a free family pass for a Force game and when you click the link it shows you exactly where all the free seats are because you have to chose one of em, you cannot take up a paid seat with the offer. I reckon based on what I saw only about 1500 free tickets were taken up which still means 15,000 people paid to watch the Force vs Tonga

Hate to be a wet blanket, but when you drill down a bit most of the GA tickets are being sold at pretty close to cost considering transport is included. GA ticket = $10. Transperth DayRider = $12.
People are paying and turning out and that's great. But I don't think hurling shit bombs @ Melbourne and Canberra is quite justified ATM.
