Nah, they will sign. Don't fret about it, no biggie now, we want them to have a job

The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor

Welborn said in front of the Senate Committee that at least 12 have signed with the Rabble which asks two questions

    1. With Daley, Ainsley, Faulkner announced so far and presuming the obvious like Coleman and the Haylett Petty brothers as a package have signed with the devil (the Senators need to ask how they are going to fund those three players) who are the other six?
    2. How many of those twelve alleged contracts are one season deals?

If at least half of those deals are one year deals with extra season/IPRC options that has to be thrown in the ARU's face. This goes with the rack of other players the Rabble have off contract next season.

Looking at it as keeping the playing group as much together as possible.

It's odd that the Rebels favs haven't picked up on that their playing, coaching and support groups have been removed and replaced with the Force. Their trolls definitely haven't picked up that they'll be supporting the Force next season in different jerseys.

It's a long term view and a hopeful one, but if a large part of playing group can stay together and have only signed 1 or 2 year contracts, they keep their skills up while WA/Andrew Forest/Indo Pacific get ourselves in order then it's the best way forward in the shitty situation that has led to the Force being cut from the competition.

Based on what has panned out - if I were a Brumbies fan I'd be concerned due to shift of focus to where the people numbers are, regardless of whether they are interested in Union or not.

That's been the case since 1996 when Louis Luyt said that Transvaal would put 100 on the Brumbies (which Tvl lost) and Macqueen was aware that the Brumbies were only going to get two years to prove themselves as people had doubts about such a small union being in a big multinational competition. People in Sydney still don't get how the Brumbies are still standing and successful.

I think Dickie Hardwick is one more for the Rebels. Possibly Benny Mac too, although he would prefer the Tahs I think.

Rugby.com.au has stories on Billy M and Ben Mc today. In both the boys have said they are close to signing and will be clear about their futures within a week.

Looks like the Rebels are waiting for the ARU to let them know it’s business as usual; “spend up big and we’ll see you right”.
