How does the ATO view assets being undersold and sold for less than fair value? There would have to be at least 34c in every GST dollar they get for us in WA?

I doubt it's worth $1.00 given what Mr Winney was willing to pay for the 'organisation' a term I use loosely.

This might be worth a look. Illegal Phoenix Activity caught my attention

I wonder if The West Austrtalian Newspaper removed the story through ARU pressure? Gutless.
I don't know if he is able or would want to assist with the reporting of this, but Nic Ellis a photographer for the West, and has been for over 30 years ..he wrote "in the Beginning" the story of the Force when we first got started with Nathan and John Mitchell on the front...

Says a lot about Sanzaar that they had two expansion teams that had activities of corruption going on while the competition was in trouble. WP Rugby (Stormers are now a stand alone Super Rugby side) are also in trouble. Sanzaar and the broadcasters complained about the product but if they actually dug deeper the teams themselves are one of the root causes of why the product is suffering and players are leaving. Of course that has led to lopsided results. The Kings were basically bankrupt and had players on food stamps before they played a Super Rugby match in 2016.

Former rugby boss Cheeky Watson to stand trial next year for fraud

PORT ELIZABETH, October 13 (ANA) – The fraud and money laundering trial involving former Eastern Province Rugby boss, Cheeky Watson and his three co-accused will begin in July next year and has been set down for four weeks.

The case was called before the Port Elizabeth Commercial Crimes Court on Friday and was postponed for final instructions and a pre-trial conference.
Watson, Nadia Gerwel, a former assistant director in the metro’s finance department, Zeranza director Andrea Wessels and Mandisi Mkasa, a former director of Laphum’ilanga Transport Services, face charges of fraud and money laundering following a lengthy probe into alleged fraudulent activities involving around R12 million.

The money was meant for the coastal city’s integrated public transport system (IPTS).

Watson and his co-accused handed themselves over to police in March this year.

It is alleged that Wessels conspired with Gerwel to defraud the metro in a manner designed to give them unlawful access to IPTS funds.

The State alleges Gerwel and Wessels used an events management company, ESP Africa, as a vehicle to launder the money.

But when that company was no longer viable they allegedly turned to Access Management, a company operating at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium, and then to EP Rugby.

According to court papers, close to R3 million was laundered into the bank accounts of Access, EP Rugby and Zeranza – by means of Watson, Gerwel and Wessels acting in concert with one another.

In 2007 National Treasury approved a budget of R208 million for the improvement of the IPTS system.

The multi-million rand IPTS is regarded as the city’s biggest corruption scandal.

I saw a post from a Force supporter on the ARU's article stating that the printing company have asked for money up front from the Rebels due to the fact that they are broke. Maybe this explains why they haven't launched their membership drive yet.

    Hansie,

The ATO has a branch that deals solely with sporting organisations. May be worth getting in touch with them?

I want the ATO to know about the $10 million worth of services that the MRRU provided to the ARU in 2013-2014 which doesn't seem to appear in the MRRU's income and expenditure statements.

Bed time reading for later on.

Here is the Senate Inquiry report in to Soccer Australia in the mid 90s. Criminal activity including tax evasion was mentioned in the report. There were people who refused to testify (I say that has changed). The report deadline was also extended, which could happen with the Rugby Inquiry as it has uncovered more than what Senator Reynolds had expected.

The Government response including requesting the immediate termination of Eddie Thomson's contract due to a conflict of interest that was uncovered in the Inquiry

I'd like to know about the exorbitant legal fees that Imperion used to siphon money out of the MRRU. Who provided the legal services?

Post from Jodi Hodgson on the same article said that Matt and others were locked of the WA Government funded building by an ARU HR official. She said that his gear is still in his locker that he can't access. No mention of whether anything else that is personal and/or of sentiment is still there.

This needs to be forwarded on to Murray and McGowan asap as this is unacceptable.

Y'(kn)ow we undertook appropriate due diligence on the VRU finances and they definitely had the dollar.

Mr Clown, did anyone think to check if they actually had working capital at the time of the focred sale?

That's....y'ow a matter for the new owners.

But you are the controlling body. Don't you have continuing over site of on-going financials?

Y'ow I'm just the chairman, ....... I'm not over all the, y'ow, day to day running expenses of the franchises.

But you have said the board conducted due diligence on the sale before rubber stamping the VRU put option.

Y'ow we ran a whole series of different scenarios..............

But did you actually do due diligence?

Y'ow were are very busy people..what with y'ow internal reviews by our mates, placating Shite Shield luminaries and all....

    Did you or didn't you?

Well...y'ow we asked Clunk to have a squizz.

    And did he?

Well....y'ow he had resigned by then....so y'ow...after...y'ow after running a whole series of strategic options we asked Bill.

And what did he come up with Mr Clown?

    His resignation..

So what's the outlook for the Rabble?

Well I don't concern myself with the day to day stuff and, y'ow I've got a plane to catch. But Bill told me that the last time he looked they are broke again so check with him. You'll find him under the Number 27 bus, I think. So y'ow....catchya - like I said, got a plane to catch.

Its all about Preparation...prior preparation prevents piss poor performance. If you or I were going for any kind of interview let alone a Senate Enquiry, we would be prepared with facts and figures, and know what NOT to say. The exact opposite of Willy, Clarke then Patsy

Most of the posters on GAGR couldn't give a stuff about what is happening. They don't seem bothered that all the money thats been poured into the Rebels/VRU black hole is money that could have been spent on grass roots rugby in all the States
