To be fair Wayne Smith has been fantastic and he has stayed strong alot longer than the boys from fox sports. At the end of the day though they arent the ones losing anything. The ONLY team to loose out in this cataclismic mess is the Force.
Thats where there's a lack of leadership. SARU looked after their teams and still have plans to grow while ARU is happy to stick the knife into its own rugby community. What sort of governing body does that?

With regard to Eales being brave enough to front up. Thats bull shit. Its only because the twats at hq have been called out for not having the balls to face the public over here. The thought the oress conference and media release was enough. No community consultation. Its is rank amateurism.

Id be boycotting that lunch. Hes as complicit as the others in all of this.

If were going down then so is everything else!

But probably more difficult to sustain. Even at the rally it was difficult to sustain "FORCE, FORCE, FORCE, ..." whereas we've sustained "FOR-CE (clap clap clap) FOR-CE (clap clap clap) FOR-CE (clap clap clap) ..." for minutes at a time at games.

Wayne smiths latest has the Rebels sweating their future next year if we survive! Bloody cheek I hope to hell that Dave W. tells them to shove the job offer and goes overseas. We have players, coach, fans who want to buy our team and a financial backer but let's keep the friggen team with none of that!!! FFS!!

Unless the VRU folds the rebels they're part of the competition next year though? so that makes no sense.

They might not have the lineup they want. or the coach they want, but they'll have a team.

Sorry didn't quite put that correctly they will be there but may need concessions with international players if we survive.

What's with Fiji playing in the NRC? While I think it's a great idea, the timing seems off. I though the ARU had no money and needed to save everything to spend on developing grassroots rugby? That is unless the idea is for Fiji to become a feeder team for the Melbourne Rebels so no expense is spared?

Developing Fijian grassroots rugby is fantastic, just not sure we shouldn't be putting those resources into developing Australian grassroots rugby right now.

I was listening to all the reasons the ARU shill Hoiles was saying why Fiji is good in the commentary and thinking the same would apply to the Force.

World Rugby is actually bankrolling Fijian involvement.

With that in mind I think they definitely boost the NRC from a competitive and prestige standpoint.

Not to mention the short term financial gains, we all know how much the ARU value that over longevity,, security or development

I assume that means in the next couple of days seeing as you posted that on Friday? I read an article this morning that said early next week.
