Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

QLD 1-17 WA- 3 Much better effort, plenty of endeavour and willingness, final scoreline wasn't a true reflection of the match with both QLD tries the result of fortuitous offloads. WA showed real intent to shift bodies at the breakdown and effected several turnovers. Vastly improved set piece.
If you get a chance get on GAGR and have a look at some of the shit that the muppets involving Sydney private elitist schools talk. Bunch of upper class snobby knob jockey's.

Easy mate. It's all well to throw stones but how would you do it better? I know pugs has been active in calling coaches and trying to get players down. Many said no thanks due to studies, work and other commitments.
Let's be a little more supportive of the excellent work these blokes are trying to do and perhaps develop a network of contacts to identify these players you are saying are out there.
The guys who've pulled the jersey on are busting their arses, show a little support in a time the game needs it.

Good constructive first post after your red card sabbatical Seven Mile. The whole concept of this 18's age group thing has to change. You can't have the majority of this team playing in a RWA juniors comp and expect them to mix it with battle hardened players who get taken out of their comfort zone every week.

Wholesale changes need to happen to the whole junior structure from 16's thru to 20's to ensure our lads are prepared as best they can be and playing in a comp where you don't know if the opposition is even going to front will not prepare you for tournaments like these.

Rep players and those with ambition to play at a higher standard should be pitted against each other each week, their rugby should be played in a division where this is catered for and those that can't be arsed extending themselves or those that are new to the game or those who will fill the lower grades when they leave age group stuff should be pitted against each other.

Hence my premier colts and junior colts concept and not for the first time have I championed this idea where everyone get's a run against those with similar playing standards and ambitions.
Age to be 17's up -Two divisions.

No idea about the private schools, but junior rugby is not exactly in a healthy state. 7 metro clubs providing teams in u 18 and U20 is even worse, 6 teams or something out of which only 3 are competitive. With those lack of resources, I'm surprised we did as well as we did against QLD.

    10am WA Schools 48 - Victorian Schools 17

WA has finished its tournament on a high with a big win over Victoria in the seventh-place playoff.

Carlo Tizzano was a star for WA, scoring a try and making an impact across the park, along with winger Walker Smith.

A yellow card for John-Martin Stewart put WA a man down and Victoria pounced with a try to Jonathan Lightfoot but they couldn't claw their way back into a lead against WA.

    RESULT

    WA 48

    Victoria 17

    http://www.rugby.com.au/news/2017/07...mps-finals-day

Seems like the WA boys got better as the tournament went on getting within 2 tries of finalists ACT, within 2 tries of QLD1 and putting nearly 50 on Victoria.
