More on Puller's visit from the Neddies website:

    http://nedlandsrugby.com.au/2017/06/...r-coming-town/

Well readers. Today your columnist will reward your loyalty with another scoop in the great Australian Super Rugby Saga.
Guess who’s coming to Perth next week? None other than Bill Pulver. That’s right, your columnist has it on good authority that the CEO of Australian Rugby will be in Perth on Tuesday for what will be his first visit across the Nullarbor since the Australian Super Rugby Saga began back in April. Your columnist understands that Mr Pulver will meet with RugbyWA officials, while also calling in to see the WA Government. If you see him, do the right thing and buy him a beer…

One of the many obvious topics for discussion at next week’s meetings will be the ARU’s decision earlier this week to lift the moratorium which had previously prevented the Brumbies, Reds and Waratahs from trying to poach players from the Rebels and Force. Conspiracy theorists might well conclude that decision favours the three most powerful factions in Australian rugby at a time when the ARU is facing an extraordinary general meeting later this month. Hmmm…

The lifting of the moratorium is also consistent with what your columnist wrote back on May 5 in the column headed: The Man Who Can Solve The Australian Rugby Impasse.

In that column, we penned the following statement:
“As we all know, the ARU has some major dramas to deal with right now. But those dramas would be compounded if SANZAAR’s decision on how many teams will be in Super Rugby next year drags on beyond June. That is because while there is a moratorium on Australian players being poached by other Australian Super Rugby teams until the SANZAAR situation is resolved, there are no such restrictions on foreign clubs plundering Australia’s most talented Super Rugby players. Those players have families to feed and futures to think about. If those players opt for the security of lucrative overseas contracts while the ARU and SANZAAR dither, it would be nothing short of a national travesty.”

Anyway, your columnist has a bit more up his sleeve to support the call made in this column that the Force would be alive and upright in 2018. But one scoop for today is enough.

Stay tuned… and GO THE FORCE!!!

If Pulver makes it to Perth it's one more visit than the coach of our National team.

Cheika hasn't been in town since the Puma Test last August!

    Great to have the support!

But the Force players always did wear the wrong blue.

Cheika is a bag of wind whose strings are pulled by the same people who pull the ARU's strings. They all know where their bread is buttered, and it's not in a postcode beginning with 6.

Good signs of what the ARU is hoping to aspire to. A far cry from the "national footprint" and making "Rugby a game for all" as announced in the ARU's strategic plan in April 2016.

Cheika also addressed the growing concerns around rugby’s future here as he prepares for the first international of 2017.

“Rugby is never going to be the No.1 sport in Australia, we’ve got different upbringings around what our sports have been traditionally, but we’ve got a very strong, committed, loyal following, a huge volunteer base,” Cheika said.

“We also have the ability to be everyone’s second favourite as well because we play as a nation so often, just like I’ll be watching the Socceroos or the cricketers in the Champions [Trophy] or the rugby league team or netball team when they’re playing.

“We’re in a tough spot right now but [we’ll] make the decisions we need to make, we need to be starting to unify, that’s the key issue.
Tevita Kuridrani in action for the Brumbies.

“There’s not a choice for us not to unify our states, down to our clubs, right down into grassroots where our heartland is.”

Having spoken to the rugby community, Cheika acknowledged that the Wallabies must produce winning results to keep fans interested.

“They are looking to us to put things right on the field,” he said.

“We’ve got to play with a certain attitude that says ‘Australian rugby, we’re here for the fight’.”

They should rename the ARU "The Daily Telegraph Rugby Union". Those hacks already think they run Australian Rugby.

Similarly FoxSports Kick & Chase should be re-titled "Waratahs TV" as it's the only team that gets any significant coverage.

The "never going to be the No.1 sport in Australia" and "different upbringings ... traditionally" does sound like "back to the future"; i.e. back to the "good olde days" when Rugby Union was the preserve of a Sydney and Brisbane based elite who went to the right schools (and/or played for Randwick).

For me the funniest bit was THIS:

Soooo....either FUBARU have never heard of an existing organization named RugbyWA, or more likely wanted "RugbyAU" so getting rid of the opposition sounded like a cunning plan
