Cheikas ignorance of what importance your inside centre is to your teams structure is ridiculous but expected. You need a 12 that understands game situations and how to time his involvements. 12 also needs to be a strong carrier for 1st phase plays, a strong defender, a good alternate kicker and an alternate playmaker. Playing Fiji will help hide some of Khunts flaws but against a team like NZ, he will exposed for his rugby deficiencies.

KHunt's selection @ 12 may seem baffling at first glance. But Cheika (coaching Stad Francais) saw first hand what he achieved @ Biarritz coming off basically no Rugby experience. He played mostly 12 there but also quite a bit @ 10, including a winning Heineken Cup semi. Went back to 12 in a winning final. I watched those last two and he was impressive especially with tactical kicking. I'll reserve judgement for now and see how he goes in the Wallaby environment.

Through all the doom and gloom, seeing Richard being picked for a potential debut gives me hope that there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

PS: And it is not an oncoming train.
