It's not really good for any of them, as pretty much all the income comes from the TV rights. The scatter gun strategy of the ARU of producing women referees, women players, and seven a side players in the hope that it will "grow the game" is illusory, and poorly selected. I think there are less teams in the metro womens rugby this year, and hey - we've got at least one female ref. How much did that all cost?. I went for the Forces jugular on the "marketing" front for the last x years, ARU has possibly been worse. Participation numbers are reducing every year, I would say that by the next broadcast deal the pie will be even smaller. Doom and gloom, but hey, this didn't happen overnight, and there's a lot of fiddling going on in Rome. The Force/Rebel/Brumbie debate just clouds the real issues.

That's what I thought could be the case. I wouldn't have thought Pulver would come to Perth for that application. Or that Dave Wessels would be involved in any way.
