Recruit Robbie Coleman fit for Western Force debut

    Nick Taylor, PerthNow

WESTERN Force signing Robbie Coleman is the fittest he has ever been heading into his eighth Super Rugby season.

The utility back is running faster than he’s run before and has shed several kilos in gruelling pre-season sessions since moving from the Brumbies.

One of new coach Dave Wessels’ aims when he took charge was to improve the side’s fitness.

Coleman, who signed a two-year deal with the Force, said the head coach had “certainly been putting us through it”.

That was my first thought. But if you read the full piece he claims he hit 91kg last year. If that's true he' be about 88 naw. Hard to believe. I stood about 5m from him at the junior clinic the other day and he looks more like 75.

The problem is muscle is denser than fat, so you can't judge his weight off the guys you normally hang around with at the pub.

Wouldn't that mean he should get heavier? I didn't think he was showing obvious signs of body fat last year.
