    Changes to fixture

    From an email from RugbyWA:

The Western Force would like to announce that there have been time changes to two home matches for the 2017 season.

In what is sure to be one of the biggest home games of the year the Round Nine clash with the Chiefs has been moved back from a 7:55pm kick off to a much more family friendly time of 5:45pm on Saturday, 22 April.

The second time change, will be the last game of the regular season against arch rivals the Waratahs. Once again the time will shift back from 7:55pm to a 5:45pm kick off on Saturday, 15 July.

With eight blockbuster home games next season, we can't wait to see you in the Sea of Blue next year!

Wonder if we'll get new fridge magnets with the updated fixtures sent out?

That email contains a curious quirk of English. Moving the kick-off time from 7:55 pm to 5:45 pm is announced as a move or shift backwards. Approximately 50% of the population agree with that, and the other 50% think of that as moving forward in time. Apparently it depends on whether you see time as fixed and you move through time, or yourself as fixed and time passes by you.

The former is correct. This must be so in order to exclude ontological paradox. According to "The Doctor", at any rate.

I think the earlier kick-off times are great.

Given that I have always been the centre of the universe, I have been quietly assured that everything, time included, revolves around me.

Just read the Community rugby threads Jargs, it doesn't matter what time the Force play, they and the Force are mutually exclusive
