Otago wearing microchips to obtain head movement data

I was watching the Otago/Wellington match over the weekend and noticed all the Otago players wearing something behind their ears. Turns out it is a chip that measures acceleration of the head, both linear and rotational. They are partnering with Univ of Otago to gather data. Pretty cool. Hopefully it will help us make the sport safer.
