Exactly how much beer is in a yard - I mean that tall glass, not the area behind yer house - is that a garden? I dunno, I'm from California... My garden has dying vegetables, not beer.. So how much beer is in a yard (glass)?

    Australia and New Zealand
The yard glass has had a significant effect on Australian drinking and popular culture. The ritual of the yard-glass sculling competition (who can empty the contents of the glass the fastest) is predominant in, but not restricted to, Australian "bogan" culture. It is also popular among university students.

Former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke was at one time the world record holder for fastest skolling of a yard of beer.[3]

It is a popular tradition to receive a yard glass as a gift for coming of age celebrations on one's 21st birthday in Australia and New Zealand, and consume the full glass during one's birthday party. This is usually timed for fun and comparison.

A yard glass in New Zealand generally holds between 6 and 7 beers (just over two litres) substantually larger than the English version. As such it can take anywhere from 2 minutes onwards to consume a full New Zealand yard.

So what yer saying is that I need some proper training... 2 litres is like.. ummm, 1/2 a gallon... convert that, carry the 4 over , so I think a yard is, something like 2 quarts? WOW! can you do a keg stand with that? .. ok my head hurts now.. math sucks!!! Well, bogan, college, just plain unsophisticated as it may seem, the Yard is a worthy quest... Thank You!!!

In 1991 the Buiness book of records banned all alcohol related entrie, because they didn't want to be sued.
In 1975 though a guy drank 2Litres in 6 seconds.
read this Missing Alcohol Records from the Guinness Book of World Records

Geez, I've never considered it... a pint, i'm thinking imperial version, right, around 10 seconds... would it be possible to record a time of less than 20 seconds? PS: Do Australians "boat race" with beer?

    Fastest pint of Guinness

There are a lot of college kids who think that they can drink a pint, mug or stein of beer faster than any of their buddies. No doubt that there are some who are quite quick on the draw, but when it comes to Guinness, there can only be one fastest drinker. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the fastest pint of stout was downed in a mere 2.1 seconds by Peter Dowdeswell in London, on April 24, 2001. The stout was Guinness. Mr. Dowdeswell is a competitive eater and avid beer drinker, who began his career after deciding to try to break every beer-drinking record in the 1975 book of world's records. He also drank a yard of ale (2 liters) in 5 seconds.
