Australia Women's Sevens star Emilee Cherry may be ruled out of the Olympics in Rio due to a hamstring injury.

The influential Aussie player suffered a hamstring injury in training earlier this week.

Cherry scored the second-most points of all players in 2015/2016 Women's World Series with 134, including 22 tries for the reigning champions.

Losing the 23-year-old would therefore be a massive blow for the gold medal favourites' hopes, with coach Tim Walsh revealing she would undergo a late fitness test ahead of the first day's action on August 6.
