1965 & 1971 South Africa rugby union tour matches with Western Australia

I'm trying to get the Western Australian team lists for the tour match games between South Africa and WA in 1965 & 1971.

    Namely:

South Africa vs Western Australia 2nd XV 10 June 1965 Perth Tour match
South Africa vs Western Australia 10 June 1965 Perth Tour match

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1965_South_Africa_rugby_union_tour_of_Australasia

    And:

South Africa vs Western Australia 26 June 1971 Perth Tour match

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1971_South_Africa_rugby_union_tour_of_Australia

Any information on where I could gain this detail would be much appreciated.

The EPSN Scrum archives for 1965 shows the tour, but only the test matches, not the tour matches. The archive for 1971 doesn't even show the tour!

Try writing to Rugby WA directly: 203 Underwood Ave (or PO Box 146), Floreat, WA, 6014, or calling them 08 9387 0700 as they may have archives going back that far

Just ask Gunny, he has a great memory and would have ben in his early 50's around that time, so the grey matter was still in top form back then

Good thing it's the short term memory that goes first - next time you see him he wont remember this post

I've sent off an enquiry to the rugbywa.com.au/contact-us, so if I don't hear back, I think I will try calling/writing.

Unfortunately, I'm not over in Perth often, I was hoping something might be online, but obviously the search will take a bit more effort!!

I have a relative I believe was in one of the teams, and I'm curious which one, hopefully not the 120-0 game :-(

    Hello Geo 101
Bob Thompson played at hooker and is the only WA player selected from a club side to play for the Wallabies. Steve Takiari might have played I think and maybe Terry Bradbury ... Suggest you ask PetercBailey who is the expert.
