"It was great to watch guys with not much or no Super Rugby experience really stand out. Jake Gordon was fantastic, (Dave) Horwitz stepped up, (Andrew) Deegan was consistent, then you’ve got a guy like Reece Robinson who will go into preseason with a lot more confidence this year. Then we were able to push some club guys like Sam Figg and Alex Newsome, they’re both going over to spend some time with the Force over summer. As a coaching group we take a lot of satisfaction from that.

Marcel Brache as he is signed for 2017, I noticed he has been called up for USA Eagles, would that make him ineligible to re-sign or become a marquee.

I think at the end of his contract he will need to become a marquee if he wants to stay.

Wow! Tatafu signing came out of nowhere. Even if we only have him for one year he will be a great mentor for Anaru and Harry. Probably the best hooker at the moment in Australia and he will really help us out in the scrums. Just hope he stays injury free.

Interesting thought, He'd have been available through the Giteau Rule in any case so if it was part of a package to get him here, then that is encouraging.

Two years would have been a light at the end of the tunnel.

By my reckoning that is 31 full contracts. So no room for another mid field player unless EPS?
