    Force vs waratahs 2016

Looks like Harry Scoble will possibly make his debut on the weekend

    Force stay with attacking mentality

Western Force will not turn away from the attacking intent of their new up-tempo style, nor deviate from their traditional strength — warfare at the breakdown — when they take on NSW Waratahs at nib Stadium on Saturday night.

The Waratahs are anticipating a Matt Hodgson-led back-row onslaught and a suffocating defence from the lowly Force, who have beaten them in their past three clashes.

Both are out to restore some respectability to their Super Rugby seasons, with the Force having won just one game and the Waratahs two — all three of them against the Queensland Reds.

The Force need to vastly improve their set piece. The line-out was a shambles in their last match against the Crusaders and the pack was badly outscrummaged late in the game.

Front-row stocks will be stretched with prop Pek Cowan (broken arm) and hooker Nathan Charles (dislocated shoulder) both sidelined.

They will be replaced by Francois van Wyk, who returned from a dislocated wrist against the Crusaders, and untested hooker Harry Scoble, who would make his debut.

But Wallaby tighthead prop Tetera Faulkner, who makes his 50th appearance on Saturday, is confident they have the depth to cover the long-term injuries.

He also said the pack had plenty to prove after the 20-19 Crusaders loss.

“The injuries are definitely testing our depth, but we’ve got some quality boys there,” Faulkner said.

“We didn’t fire against the Crusaders.

“We have been working hard on our scrum and line-out, keeping ourselves accountable.

“The forward battle is going to be huge. They have got big ball carriers, but we’ll back our defence.

“The more line speed we can get, the more pressure we can put on them.”

Scoble is a mile away from being ready. What was the point of bringing in Sexton if he is as bad as he looks at club rugby...

Very good questions but i would say a lack of depth in this country at the moment at hooker ,so the bigger question would be why was robbie able let go.insider your jokes are fucken boring and tedious so give it a rest

The Hoffman as referee as well. Not to confident he'll be looking at things evenly either.

Did you see in the Rebels game last weekend Hoffman awarded a try. Perenara from the Hurricanes yelled at him to go to the TMO, so he did. If he didn't see the ball grounded why did he award the try? Pretty much an admission that he guessed.
Maybe the correct decision was reached (replays didn't have an angle to see grounding or not). Just looks really incompetent awarding a try presuming he has seen a grounding then going to the TMO. Either you saw a grounding or you didn't.

Well as the donkeys brought their own ref it is only fair that the petals do as well. I am sure we have a plan.

Just shows that maybe being somewhat more forceful with the ref like screaming insanely at him is the way to go. Maybe Hodgo should really chuck a tantrum more often! Beating that, as with the Brumbies game, the whole team walking off the field in disgust should be an option.
