Fitting, as it seems that is what it would take to drag anyone from the NSWRU or Waratahs to the place...

    D-day looms for Brumbies CEO

    AAP
    April 15, 2016, 2:34 pm

Brumbies chief executive Michael Jones will find out next Thursday morning if he can keep his job at the Super Rugby franchise.

ACT Supreme Court Justice Richard Refshauge will decide whether to make permanent or throw out a temporary order allowing Jones to stay in the position after the Brumbies' board stood him down last month following a scathing radio interview on ABC Grandstand.

The judgment will be given just hours before an extraordinary general meeting is scheduled to dissolve the board.

Jones on Friday attempted to reopen the case and submit fresh evidence but failed.

MICHAEL Jones will keep his job as Brumbies chief executive for now after the Super Rugby club’s board lost a legal challenge.

ACT Supreme Court Justice Richard Refshauge on Thursday upheld a temporary injunction that, under whistleblower protection laws, allowed Jones to continue in his role after being stood down by the board in March.

It followed a scathing radio interview on ABC Grandstand in which he referred to a report around the franchise’s sale of its Griffith headquarters.

ACT rugby split emerges amid confusion over Brumbies board meeting

"The dispute between the Brumbies and chief executive Michael Jones is expected to come to a head today.

A split emerged yesterday over who was controlling rugby in the ACT after there was confusion over the location of the Brumbies board's extraordinary general meeting.

An extraordinary general meeting of the Brumbies board was supposed to go ahead last night, with a motion to dissolve the board to be considered.

Local clubs are the key stakeholders on the make-up of the board — there are 23 votes in total and the local teams control 14 of those.

However only three clubs, along with Mr Jones, attended the scheduled meeting at the Brumbies headquarters in Bruce, meaning the meeting had to be adjourned.

Meanwhile, other members of the Brumbies board, including the chairman, actually met with four other clubs at a rival meeting in Tuggeranong, where the clubs were being briefed on the reasons why they initially stood down Mr Jones."
