Isn't that the way it's always been? Just like nearly every other sport. Sheer weight of numbers, despite best practice governance. It's a little better for the two major sports but not a lot.

Would be interesting to get some more info on the supposed "private ownership" option. I am surprised that it is even a possibility.

"while in Perth Bill Pulver will be discussing the future form the Western Force franchise will take. Apparently the franchise will stay in Perth, and there have been whispers of interest in a partial private ownership model, similar to the way New Zealand franchises are currently operated."

I really can't see how private ownership can fly for a team that can't even sell naming rights, surely the whole team will cost more?

I would imagine that private ownership would be charged at a price of whatever the ARU would set.

Maybe we should set up a go fund me page and TWF can buy the team.

With so much speculation and chatter on the rugby blogs (anyone read Hugh Cavill on GnGR this morning??!) I think RugbyWA need to let their beleaguered members know exactly what's going on and what's truth and what's not. We seem to be the forgotten party in all of this.

I think someone like Kerry Stokes would be a great fit for private ownership of the Force (Australian Capital Equity). Whilst based a lot in NSW he has a very proud association with WA, business interests here and interstate and would enjoy seeing the Force touch up the Tahs twice a year. He has a great philanthropic record and played a bit of rugby in his younger days from memory. I would hope that Sinders would be discussing this possibility as a priority.

I don't think Rugby WA know exactly what's going on, let alone what to do about it.

The financial and team performance KPIs for the Western Force have been going south since before the 2012 coaching debacle, and Rugby WA have been like a mob of roos caught in the headlights.

We are the mug punters and we will be treated by Rugby WA is the same old way that punters have always been treated when things go wrong - kept in the dark and fed on ...

When the bad news, whatever it may be, does eventually come, it will come suddenly and the paying members will be presented with a fait accompli.
