Eddie Jones - Do We Listen?

Something controversial to start the day off...

Eddie Jones has been quoted in the media (again) today putting in his two cents worth regarding the wallabies and their prospects of beating the all-blacks...

to use some art metaphors, the guy was painting (by numbers) with almost the same pallet as Knuckles, yet his output last year was equal to that of a kindergarten finger painting class.

Connolly, on the other hand, whilst not yet da Vinci is certainly proving to be the man for the job so far and no (Australian) Rugby fan can deny that Saturday night was oh so sweet...

So my question is this...how much credibility should we place on Eddie Jone's weekly media spot...and do we care what he thinks the Australian coaching staff should do next?

Until he proves he himself still has what it takes to successfully coach a rugby team; don't care, not listening. He should be focusing on getting his own team back in the game ...

He`s had his chance, and didn`t listen to anyone then, and his results proved this. So, why should anyone listen to him now??? Sure he can make his comments after the fact, but don`t we all know better in hindsight

I'd listen to analysis, as he is certainly knowledgeable. I'd be sceptical of any coaching advice though, both on form and the potential for sour grapes. However, I agree with Coach - getting the Reds back on track not a big enough job for him?

I totally agree AndyS. His pride has been sufficiently wounded so his analysis of the coaching staff and approach is going to contain a certain level of personal bias. Although he does know first hand how it all works so his words should not be completely dismissed... just read with a bit of caution.
I'm not ready to completely dismiss him... after all this is the guy who lead the wallabies to a RWC grand final... Even if that was 3 years ago.
How quickly does everyone forget the good things someone achieved when they go through a rough patch.
But while i feel sorry for Jones ultimately I feek knuckles is the best man for the job. The results are already starting to speak for themselves.

Until France, I would give Eddie as much credit as David Campese, knows the game but is bitter and twisted and is tarnished with an agenda.

Campo is at least funny and often right albeit in at arrogant kind of way (and actually CAN coach a backline).

I'd have alot more time for Campo than Jones. Damn Jones almost turned us into a 3rd world rugby nation.

wow ... I didn't expect responses like that ... I'll admit if he had an agenda towards the last 7 games of his Wallabies coaching then it didn't make sense to me. But - do not forget he took us within 10 seconds of a world cup when for months leading up to the RWC03 people were calling for him to be sacked.

Never burn a bridge is my saying, always listen and decide for yourself.

To clarify, I am not saying he can't coach by the way, just that his opinions will not carry much weight with me during this WC cycle.

i'm getting the feeling you're not a campo fan burgs... now i wonder why i would be under that impression.... hehe.

How's his eyesight these days? i got too close to him at the England and South Africa RWC game here and got took a photo with a disposable camera with bright flash and i think i temporarily blinded him. He has his eyes closed in the photo though so maybe the damage wasn't permanent...lol
