2016 The tough year ahead for these clubs

With the State economy in recession 2016 will prove tough for these clubs.

    Baysie
Had there best players poached by Joondalup ( Konelio, Laione and Jacko) Murphy to uni and a couple of others to Wests last season, former p.g Hampshire winner shopping himself around and there well highly regarded coach jumping ship to paly throw in a bad economic situation in Perth which will mean less kiwis will rock up this year I hate to say it but Baysie will be lucky to win a game this year.

    Joondalup
Finished where most thought they would last year (8th) and were competive in most games. Will most definitely have some very good high priced recruit's but just don't have any depth at all with 19's becoming 20's this sadly won't help the cause at all and there older players won't retire to lower grades to cope a hiding every week brothers will play finals in the next few years but it won't be this year.

    Wanneroo
Excellent choice of coach in KK. Which means they will retain nearly their whole squad. Roodogs have been progressing at the speed of a turtle and there season will depend on if they draw a few more players to the club with KK and some smart recruitment in tough economic times.

    Kalamunda
Best years we have are simply when the New Zealand economy is weak and W.A is strong sadly 2016 is'nt one of those years retained most of the side from last year but serious concerns over depth and not going to get easier in this economy.

There is no way Joondalup poached any players from Perth or any other club.

RugbyWA made them promise they wouldn't.

I hear some Rope a Dope from Kalamunda has got himself into Crack,
and is a sure thing into RugbyWA executive this year.

    Not you, Buck?

If not, can you control him?

Speaking of rope a dopes, I see Palmyra have elected an entirely inexperienced committee this year.

    God help them.

I went to check out training last Thursday. Ten players. Seven of them played fifths last year. The old farts in the bar outnumbered the players by 5 to 1.

I predict it will be a five team comp this year after the fourth round. Nedlands Force, Wests Force, Cottesloe Force, University Force and Associates Force.

At least all the players will know each other ...

Soaks not looking good. Nedlands have already cheque-booked their two best players and word is Justin Turner is off to greener pastures overseas.
No doubt the Farceshore club will buy up all the Kiwi scaffolders left in Perth and will need to buy another Colts team from another club.
Joondalup have gone to one of their wealthy sponsors to buy some talent but word is he is not willing to part with any more dosh.
Interesting times ahead with CRAC looking at expanding an already weak Premier Grade competition but clubs are set for a fight at next RugbyWA meeting.
That might worry Fulvio's mob after they publicly admitted throwing their support behind and helping Joondalup so it would stop another club expanding down their way. Whats goes around comes around
Now there's a team called Perth Irish wanting to join the competition..
    CRAC- cracked!

Heard Kala are being joined by the Bulldogs rugby league club at Hartfield Park, and the locals aren't to happy about it. Going to be interesting squeezing in all those teams not to mention parking if both clubs are at home. New 1st grade coach also, who has had a whole lot of state u20 players follow him. They've picked up a pretty classy kiwi 10.

Also heard the little guy from wanneroo/rugbywa ( Shank....?) was trying to set up Perth Irish in High Hycombe right on Kala's doorstep, think he was politely told to f*** o**. Now it seems Bayswater have snapped up this Irish team in an attempt to boost numbers.

Not much on the scaffolder grapevine regarding player movement for now. Although Joondalup have brought notorious club hopper Jarek Goebel , former rugby league/soaks/wanneroo.

Yep True Bulldogs have moved to hartfield , a disaster for both clubs ala Rockingham but in think Rugby will win this one over League, my concern is our fringe guys and any infighting players will end up playing league but they risk the same and aren't exactly a powerhouse league club. And having ex Paly coach working with Josh Should add a bit of balance.

    Some more scuttlebutt
Cott's money men were at the little house in Broome St recently, not happy with what they saw, and are getting the cheque books out.
Cott are ringing around trying to get a colts side from other clubs.
Nedlands have done their usual pre season poaching but it seems Wests may have surpassed them in pulling in the mercenaries this year from other clubs.
Joondalup have been offering big bucks despite one of their main money men saying the pot is empty.
A player from the UK heading to Shite Shield has stayed in Perth and offered himself to the biggest bidder.
RugbyWA is not going to be able to ride roughshod over clubs in the CRACK's insane drug induced plan to increase the size of the Premier Comp.
Looks like Wanneroo is leading the charge and their Pres has emailed all clubs and the board with a well argued set of reasons why it should not happen.
Come on guys there must be more out there. It's very quiet in clubland

Nice to see the usual negative spray coming from the usual suspects. Thanks wholetruth and Fulvio.
I can't believe that you two could possibly think that being so negative is good for rugby.
Shock us all... why not say something positive about rugby for a change.

And here we go with the same old RugbyWA apologists.

Any criticism or comment which is not enthused with adoration of the organisation is taken personally. Any reason for that?

Why don't you respond to the issues (why haven't you ever responded to the issues) rather than just attempt to shut all debate and comment down?

Do something right, even modicumly intelligently, and you might be surprised at the result.

Lets interject with something like promotion & relegation whilst we're here ! A novel idea not oft used in the sporting arena !
