    Force props relish tough pre-season

Does Ollie really think he is going to oust Tetera. I guess we'll see in a couple of months.

    Nick Taylor

In the distant past rugby union props were built like barrels with a brief to jog from scrum to scrum, occasionally get involved in a ruck and turn up at line-outs.

Sprinting was for the back line. Tackles were made only when an opposition player could not avoid them.

Now the big bookends are expected to do a lot more.

Force props have had plenty of challenges during pre-season: build scrummaging power, develop skills and increase the appetite for hard work to get them around the field at greater pace.

Tighthead Oliver Hoskins, heading into his third season at the Force, said the regime has had the lungs burning.

    Meh.
More preseason spill. When it's reflected in the infield results I'll bother reading these articles

Gee we're hard to please. Nothing in the media and we complain then when WF put players up we moan. What else can they say in pre-season anyway.

I'm not at all hard to please. Win some games & I'll be freaken extatic.

Interesting how some pre season spin is met with scorn and not others though...

The video interview with Ollie had him looking a lot bigger than he has in the past.

Maybe he has been told he needs ot be bigger to play?

Lets not forgot in any sport, anywhere in the world pre-season is always the best for us supporters.

We are all optimistic and stretching the bounds of our imagination as to where the season will take us.

Reality will set in for the majority once the season kicks off as there are only a limited amount of winners not everyone can be a champion.

So lets just enjoy the spin and optimism while we can

I still don't think Ollie is super 15 standard. Happy to be proved wrong. Hope he has done a lot of work on his scrimmaging in the off season.
