Eddie Jones reportedly set to be confirmed as England coach...

"Eddie Jones reportedly set to be confirmed as England coach after Jake White rules himself out

Former Springboks and Brumbies coach Jake White has ruled himself out of the running for the England job, seemingly opening the door for Eddie Jones.

British media reports have claimed the Australian will take over the post vacated by Stuart Lancaster last week following England's miserable World Cup showing.

White, 52, who guided his homeland to World Cup glory in 2007, had previously spoken of his interest in the England job but started to distance himself last week.

He had twice before been snubbed at the final hurdle by the RFU, when Martin Johnson took control in 2008 and when Lancaster was handed the reins in 2012 and he stated unequivocally on Thursday that he was remaining with French club Montpellier."

Jones better think long and hard about this - he won't have the same cattle to work with that he did with Japan.

I think it's good for Rugby that he would contemplate coaching one of the 6 nations minnow nations.

So it would seem from today's reports.

Both Him and White have - for different reasons - changed teams a fair amount & dont really hang about. Either one is a gamble for the stormers IMO.

Wonder if they asked Knuckles if he was really keen to get back into the coaching game given the second half of his consultant(but in actuality head coach) role at the QRU got torn up
