Don't get too excited, there are six outside backs in that squad.

For my money Cheika will pick Folau, Horne and probably Tomane in the side, I think Mitchell should be there, since he's played well for Toulon, but that'll depend strongly on whether the European comp is actually comparable to Super Rugby.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Naiyavoro start, he made it to the squad on very limited credentials, why not take it all the way.

The precedent was set with oafman Skelton. Nick is there for his marketing worth more than his rugby imho.

I expect Chieka will experiment slightly against South Africa with Gits getting plenty of time and some other fringe players also getting opportunities, full strength against the AB's and a completely experimental side against the Argies.

Oh, yeh. I tried to make that the under text of my post. He's last out of the six points caked with one unavailable. I don't know that I'd put him in front of Naiyavoro based upon this season's performances.

But I expect naiyavoro to start at least one match this year and not simply to ensure he doesn't play for (is it) Fiji.

So is it possible that some not included so far could be included later?? Or is this it? (Subject to injury cover). In other words, is it possible that guys like JOC and Hunt (and Hodgo) could still make it into the RWC squad?

Saw this yesterday so I guess people outside the squad still have a chance.

O’Connor was left out of Cheika’s 40-man squad for the opening two games of the Rugby Championship which starts against South Africa in Brisbane on July 18.

Whether he is part of the squad to face the All Blacks in Sydney for the Wallabies’ third Test of the series on August 8 will depend on how he measures up on the training paddock.
